Wolmerians step in to help 12-year-old
Excruciating pain is a daily experience endured by Tiana Daley, a 12-year-old battling cerebral palsy, a long-term disorder that is developed during birth and mainly affects brain development, muscle growth, and coordination.
According to Daley's mother, De' Cole Williams, "I have to be there for her at all times because I know not everyone is able to manage situations like these. It is stressful at times, but it is my responsibility to make her happy even though she is going through a lot. She does not give me a lot of problems, but when she makes a sound, I try to be there to attend to her needs. I am using my limited resources to sustain my daughter's condition to the best of my ability."
This story touched the hearts of teacher Karleen Grant and a group of boys attending Wolmer's Boys' School. They decided to act.
As an initiative, they saved their funds and purchased a wheelchair to improve the life of Daley.
On Wednesday, December 8, 2017, the boys of Wolmer's Boys' School, 6A, Group 3, donated a wheelchair to assist Daley.
