Secure your livestock! JDF to conduct live firing at Twickenham Park Range

Starting on Monday, the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) says it will be conducting live firing exercises at its Twickenham Park Gallery Range, in St Catherine and is appealing to residents in the area to secure their livestock.

The training exercises are scheduled to end on June 29.

In a statement yesterday, the JDF said there is no need for residents to be alarmed by the presence of soldiers in their community.

“However, they [residents] are asked to secure livestock until the end of the training,” the army said.

They are also appealing to residents not to interfere with and or move security flags and other notifications that are part of the training exercise.

The JDF says residents who come upon unexploded ordinances or paraphernalia should report these findings to its Up Park Camp headquarters at telephone number (876) 960-8776.

It said, too, that members of the public who have concerns about the presence of soldiers in their community may contact the JDF at the same number.
