St Ann man in custody following murder of his mother

A 24-year-old construction worker is in police custody following the murder of his 60-year-old mother in Nine Miles district, St Ann. 

The deceased has been identified as Jenifer Tucker, a farmer of Simms Run in Nine Miles district.

The police say Tucker was on her farm about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday when she received a call and went to assist her son inside the house, which is located on the same property.

Tucker's lifeless body was later found on the floor of he house, with blood oozing from the nose and mouth.

The police say her son was seen fleeing the premises. An alarm was raised and he was chased by residents who stoned and chopped him. 

He was treated for his injuries at hospital.
