Integrity Commission says it’s against the law to disclose reports not yet tabled
The Integrity Commission is advising that it is against the law to publicly disclose the contents of any of its reports before they are tabled in Parliament.
Last week, the anti-corruption body submitted an Investigation Report, Ruling and Special Report to Parliament.
The documents are yet to be tabled.
However, information purportedly derived from the documents has been reported in the public domain.
In a media release this afternoon, the commission underscored that it is a breach of the Integrity Commission Act to report or make any public statement on an un-tabled Investigation Report.
Amid the reported leak of information in the report, the oversight body said it has no agenda to suit any individual or entity.
It is urging the public to await parliament's tabling of all reports, including the report in question.
