Discovery Bauxite staff members Julian Keane (left), Trudy-Ann Fisher (second left), and Karen Kates-Thompson (right) make a presentation of ‘In Partnership With Jamaica’, the story of Kaiser Bauxite’s partnership with Jamaica, to Discovery Bay All-Age School Vice Principal Monica Codner (second right) and Tameika McKoy on the occasion of National Reader’s Day at the school on Tuesday. The bauxite staffers read stories to classes four, five, and six, with excerpts taken from educator and past Mico University College Principal J. J. Mills’ ‘My Life and Times’ and ‘The Prayer that Makes God Smile’ by Stormie Omartian, and Peggy Rankine’s ‘Busha Benjie’, an entertaining commentary on community traditions of an earlier Jamaica.
