MAPS rain in loyal patrons

Arguably one of the best Smirnoff parties in Kingston, MAPS (Music and Pool Series) not only pushed the limit of fashion and entertainment, but also the anticipation of patrons who wanted to be a part of the event.
With the streets lined with cars, and parking lots filled to capacity, not even the inclement weather deterred persons from turning up at the Rockfort Mineral Bath Spa and Complex recently.
Those in attendance adhered to the dress code, sporting beachwear and pool outfits; the females, of course, stealing the show with their outfits, drawing attention to cleavage and skin.
There was also a cabana section at the event, which some patrons paid for, additionally, to enjoy their liquor and host close friends.
Dancehall, pop and soca music, accompanied by synchronised flashing lights, lured scores of eager participants to draw closer to the stage. However, those who dared to venture into the huge pool, jumped in and frolicked in a childish manner.
DJs Flabba Dabba, Ikel Marvelous and Coppershot turned up the heat, while showers of rain taunted patrons at intervals. However, they were resolute and many stood their ground, dancing while the rain drizzled atop their heads.
Many went wild as their favourite songs were played, indulging in the rain and the bar, all in the name of good fun. For a few patrons - especially those in the cabanas - it got a little out of hand and they left the venue to escape the water which soaked through the sheets used to create roofing for the cabanas.
All in all, Smirnoff MAPS was money well spent and at around 10p.m., when the promoter was forced to give in and allow the inclement weather to take its course, not one patron complained, since the entertainment had been solid from as early as 7 p.m.
Recording artistes Chi Ching Ching, Denyque and Beenie Man were present at the event. Chi Ching Ching handled his business on the microphone while Beenie Man shared photos with fans. However, Denyque was more into the raving and she was spotted dancing, playing with beach balls and partaking in just about every activity that took place during the event.
