TMZ is reporting that Takeoff, one-third of Atlanta rap group Migos, was shot and killed in Houston Tuesday.

Takeoff, 28, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, is the nephew of Migos rapper, Quavo and the two were reportedly in Texas for Halloween. The rappers were playing dice with other people when a fight allegedly broke out and someone opened fire, shooting Takeoff. TMZ reported that Quavo was not injured.

NBC affiliate KPRC reported that police were called to a shooting at a bowling alley around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday morning. According to KPRC, police confirmed Quavo and Takeoff were in attendance at the time of the shooting.

Hours before the shooting, Takeoff shared a photo on his Instagram story of himself at the bowling alley. He had just released the music video for his new song, Messy, the day before.

Migos was formed by Takeoff, his uncle Quavo, and his cousin Offset in 2008 in Georgia.

The group's breakout smash hit was Versace in 2013, a song later featuring Drake. They dominated rap charts and streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music with songs like Bad and Boujee, MotorSport, Stir Fry and Walk It Talk It. Their albums — Culture and Culture II — reached platinum status and each hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The rap trio's other collaborators include Katy Perry, Lil Uzi Vert, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Cardi B.

Fans of Takeoff have been posting condolences on social media.
