Miss University Hospital crowned at Miss Nurses Week
Nurses from all medical facilities vied for the top nurse title. The competition took place over several weeks with the final event happening at Mona Heights Recreational Centre. Miss Audrey Dawn Webb was awarded the top prize.

Miss Nurses Week 1974
Nurses Week 1974 culminated on Saturday night with a dance at the Mona Heights Recreational Centre, when all the nurses who had taken part in the contests at each hospital throughout Jamaica paraded in evening gowns.
A large crowd of nurses, their friends and families saw Miss Audrey Dawn Webb (Miss University Hospital) crowned “Miss Nurses Week 1974: by the 1973 winner Miss Sonia Thompson, also of the University Hospital.
Runners-up were Miss Spanish Town Hospital (Ann Robotham) and Miss Kingston Public Hospital (Autherene Patterson).
The prizes were presented by Dr Jane Seivwright, president of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, who organised the Special Nurses Week of activities.
The evening’s programme included dancing to the Skin Flesh and Bones group, and a fashion parade of beachwear, patio and evening dresses, including trouser suits by Daphne Braham (general secretary).
