It's Carnival time!
It's that time of year again when bright colours, feathers, and itsy bitsy pieces of fabric are paraded on the streets of the Corporate Area by revellers from all across the island and the Caribbean.
It's clearly Bacchanal time again! The music is forever sweet, but over the years, the design of the costumes have evolved in more ways than one. On one side of the spectrum, costumes have become more skimpy - less material is used, just covering the 'necessary' areas. And, on the other, there are costumes to suit and accentuate the curves of the more full-figured women. And, of course, boots have become a staple with carnival costumes over the years. The streets of the Corporate Area will be a sea of revellers for Bacchanal Jamaica Road March on April 3.
Designs may change, but there are standard accessories that are perennial such as headpieces, tiaras, as well as bands for the arms and legs. To the soundtrack of some of the big hits coming out of Trinidad and Tobago carnival (hint: check out the captions), our models brighten up today's centrespread showing off some of the colourful pieces from three bands that will be participating in Bacchanal 2016.
