'Twas Trending
The drama continues to unfold with the presidential election campaign.
We have the inside scoop on that and much more, so read on for details.
Sinking the Titanic?
Ted Cruz sunk Donald Trump's Titanic when he defied orders of endorsement to openly state that he will not support the business mogul's presidential campaign. While he received boos from the audience, he was cheered on social media for his bravery.
Meanwhile, Trump's wife, Melania, will go down in history for having the best ripped-off speech ever delivered at a Republican National Convention. Hours after her Monday night speech, memes and videos surfaced via social media claiming that she ripped off Michelle Obama's 2008 Democratic National Convention speech. Parts of Melania's speech were word for word. Many laughed at her expense, crying plagiarism, and since then, they have blamed the speech writer for the political blunder, but not fired anyone.
Love triangle = Bad blood
It's Taylor vs Kimye, and if she
really knew that she would be mentioned in West's song Famous. Kimye came back with a vengeance, releasing the tape of a recorded conversation between Kanye and Taylor Swift. While a few are now calling Taylor a liar, she has refuted those claims, stating she was oblivious to being called a female dog, and for him making her famous. Now, news
is breaking that Kimye has breached California's privacy laws by recording a 'conversation without the other parties' knowledge or consent. My, what a tangled web we weave! It's safe to say that now they got Bad Blood.
Bad Romance
Caught in a Bad Romance, singer Lady Gaga and actor Taylor Kinney have broken off their engagement. After being together for five years, and engaged for a little over a year, the two have decided to go their separate ways.
Rumours have been brewing on social media that the break-up may have been caused by Gaga's busy schedule and her indecisiveness in setting a date. But in her released statements, she called them soulmates and that they might get back together despite the hectic lives they both lead. Let's hope they get to have their happily ever after.
Ghostbusters star quits twitter
Comedian and actress Leslie Jones, who currently stars in the all-female cast of Ghostbusters, was the victim of cyberbullying.
The online trolling went as far as to compare her to a gorilla. Jones, who is still getting used to her recently acquired fame, took to Twitter to express her shock at the recent events. She reposted some of the tweets and even had a battle with Milo Yiannopoulos of GameGate group, who has since been banned from Twitter. Why can't talent reign and we all just get along?
Fly like Bolt
As a build-up to the Road to Rio campaign, the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt, has gone anime. Gatorade produced and released a short anime documenting his life story titled the Boy Who Learned How to Fly. Based on actual events, it takes viewers through a range of emotions: laughter and sadness, but in the end, those who watched felt proud to live in an era of a living legend who is Jamaican.
