Deplorable main road in Lucea
THE EDITOR, Madam:
In October 2021, while driving along the Lucea main road leading to the famous Negril tourist destination on the north coast, I saw what appears to be raw sewage running along the wide openings in the sidewalks.
The sight of such dangerous, deplorable sidewalks raises concern for public attention. It is obviously a health hazard, and those broken, jagged concrete would injure pedestrians who fall into the deep holes.
As a native travelling in beautiful Jamaica for years on smooth, traffic-marked roads, I was shocked to see a main road in such condition for residents to use, and tourists to view, during my trip to the island.
Therefore, I am requesting the attention of the Hanover Municipal Corporation, Councillor Easton Edwards, Mayor Sheridan Samuels, and the Ministry of Health and Wellness to address this situation.
I look forward to my next visit to support my country’s economy.
