Freedom Street concert should be an annual affair

THE EDITOR, Madam:
Freedom Street concert was clearly the greatest dancehall show ever to be organised in Jamaica’s history. It was the most expensive concert, and had the largest crowd turnout at the National Stadium.
The question from many is, can Vybz Kartel do it again ? Most will argue that he got a huge crowd because this is the first time since 13 years fans of his music got to seem him perform live. In my opinion there can be another concert, with cheaper tickets sometime this year. It will be good for dancehall music to have at-least over 40,000 fans at the National Stadium annually .
The DownSound Entertainment team can organise the concert periodically, and also improve on their production. If I was Vybz Kartel’s manager I would ensure that Freedom Street Concert is organised annually for the next 10 years. The show can be headlined by Vybz Kartel and his his current and future protégés.
For the sake of dancehall music I hope this event will be an annual affair.
