Some of the best love stories begin when you least expect them. For Taffaney Barnett and Glenroy Wilks, emotions often shone through their smiles. The spark, first ignited at work 14 years ago, has now blossomed into love and holy matrimony.

On days when Glenroy found himself pausing mid-stride, it was because Taffaney had entered the room. He was captivated by her radiance.

“Every time she walked in the office, I couldn’t help but smile. She had a presence that caught my attention from the very beginning,” he told Island Wedding.

As if by kismet, whenever Taffaney came face to face with her beloved, his smile always caught her eye and made her heart skip a beat,“Even if I pretended not to notice,” she added.

In her own admission, Taffaney found his smile to be irresistible and secretly began to develop a crush on him. Those sentiments soon came to light when Glenroy mustered the courage to ask her out on a date.

“Naturally, I said yes. And I was pleasantly surprised when he took me to church,” she said.

The date may have been unconventional, but it proved to be just what she needed, as she had always desired a God-fearing man.

Since then, Taffaney has been amazed by how handsome, humbled, kind-hearted, loving and sweet her twin flame is.

“That moment in the church became the beginning of everything because from that day on, our lives became intertwined. And our connection continued to grow over the years,” she said, adding, “From our love, we were blessed with a beautiful daughter, and our bond became even stronger.”

When Taffaney accepted Glenroy’s invitation to worship that fateful Sunday, it marked the beginning of a union far greater than either could have imagined.

“Taffaney is not only beautiful; she is loving, strong, kind, and incredibly supportive too. Over the years of being together with her, our love grew deeper, stronger, and more meaningful,” he explained.

Glenroy felt extremely blessed when his soulmate brought their daughter into this world. “Becoming a family only strengthened our bond,” he highlighted.

Making his life happier and more meaningful than he could have ever imagined, Glenroy decided to ask the love of his life to be his wedded wife in March of last year.

After she said yes, the engaged couple wasted no time, planning the wedding of their dreams within months, alongside supportive family members and friends.

On December 20, just days before last Christmas, Glenroy and Taffaney said ‘I do’ at the Green Acres Retreat and Conference Center in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The groom, donned in a classic black-and-white suit, was overcome with emotion as his gorgeous bride walked down the aisle, adorned in an off-the-shoulder mermaid gown with lace features and tulle details.

Surrounded by happiness and unwavering support from their loved ones, the newly-weds kept the celebrations going with a festive reception at the same location. There was even an emotional worship segment, reflective and indicative of their unshakable faith in God.

The wedded pair agreed that the day not only matched but even exceeded their expectations.

“Our wedding was amazing. I was so happy that I married my best friend [and] the love of my life. He has made me the happiest woman, and I’m forever grateful to walk this journey by his side,” Mrs Wilks shared.
