Heavy rains render some areas impassable in Kingston

Sections of Kingston were flooded this afternoon as a result of heavy rains across parts of the island.

The affected areas include: Hagley Park Road, Three Miles, Portia Simpson Miller Square and Marcus Garvey Drive in St. Andrew . These areas are now impassable due to the flooding. Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes.

The Meteorological Service says the weather is being influenced by a cold front across the northwestern Caribbean. The frontal system is expected to move towards the east and become stationary in the vicinity of Jamaica tomorrow.
