The St James police say they have sufficient evidence that death threats have been made against parliamentarian, Lloyd B. Smith.
Head of the St James police, Senior Superintendent, Steve McGregor, refused to disclose details of the probe.
However, he insists that the police are taking the threats seriously and investigations are ongoing.

Smith told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre yesterday that he received the threats by telephone last week.
He says he believes the threats were linked to the internal vote he lost yesterday in his Central St James constituency.
Meanwhile, general secretary of the People's National Party, Paul Burke, says about three months ago, Smith had expressed concerns about his safety.
