Murders up 24 per cent, other major crimes decline
The police are reporting a further jump in murders since the start of the year.

According to the statistics, 1,016 people were killed in the 10-month period up from the 822 homicides over the corresponding period last year.
Rural parishes, especially some in the west, again featured prominently.
