Police arrest suspects in toddler's murder in Kingston
The police are reporting that they have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of two-year-old Demario Whyte, who was shot dead in downtown Kingston on Tuesday night.
Head of the Kingston Central Police, Superintendent Wilford Campbell, says the suspects will be questioned and charged before next week.
The police say around 8 o’clock Tuesday night, several people were standing in the vicinity of Luke Lane and Beeston Street in downtown Kingston when a vehicle drove up and unknown assailants opened fire from the car hitting little Demario, his father and another man.
They were taken to hospital where Demario was pronounced dead while his father and the other man were hospitalised.
Superintendent Campbell says the police are also seeking a member of the Top Luke Lane gang in relation to the toddler’s murder.
Campbell also says the police continue to provide support to persons from the toddler's community.
