Gov’t aiming to table Child Diversion bill in January

The government is looking to have the Child Diversion bill tabled in Parliament next month.

The bill aims to address the needs of children involved in violent incidents by providing some alternative for them outside of the formal justice system.

Justice Minister Delroy Chuck says the bill will go to Cabinet for approval in short order.

Chuck gave the assurance that all proposed legislation being handled by his ministry are being dealt with expeditiously.
