The man accused of killing retired police Sergeant Homer Davis was today granted bail in the Portland Parish Court.
Ajardo Lawrence, 31, was offered $300,000 bail and is to return to court on July 6.
Prosecutors, in outlining the allegations against Lawrence, said he and his girlfriend were involved in an altercation at a bar located on Seaview Farm Road in Port Antonio on April 4.
According to prosecutors, Davis intervened and tried to quell the dispute when he got into an argument with Lawrence.
Davis was reportedly stabbed to death during a tussle between the two men.
