Another gun seized in St James
Another firearm and close to 100 rounds of ammunition were seized this morning during the ongoing police-military operations in a section of St James.
Police spokeswoman, Inspector Dahlia Garrick said the firearm -- a Browning pistol -- along with a black plastic bag containing the ammunition, were found in bushes in the community of Bogue Hill.
It brings to nine the number of firearms seized during the operations being conducted in the community of Ramble Hill and adjoining areas since yesterday.
More than 300 assorted rounds of ammunition have also been seized.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force, in a message posted on Twitter, said Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson is in the area to get a firsthand view of the operations and give support to the men and women on the ground.
The operations are continuing with assistance from the police Canine Division and the Caribbean Search Centre.
