NWC says several facilities impacted by rainfall

Published:Monday | May 7, 2018 | 12:00 AM

The National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that water supply facilities in several of parishes have been severely impacted by the rainfall affecting the island.

The NWC says there have been power supply disruptions, blocked intakes as well as high turbidity levels.

As a result there has been a shutdown of systems in Clarendon, St Catherine, St Thomas, St Ann and St Andrew.

The NWC says customers in most areas will have low pressure or no water.

In the interim, the NWC says its teams, along with its power supply partner are working to correct the operational issues.
