The National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that a motor vehicle crash has caused extensive damage to its Nonpareil facility in Westmoreland, leaving customers without water.

Areas affected include Orange Hill, Mount Airy, Good Hope, Duck Pond, sections of White Hall and surrounding areas.

The NWC says a car ran unto the property, tore down a section of the perimeter fence, dislocated pipelines and damaged the storage tank.

The agency says it is working assiduously to carry out repairs and aims to restore water by Friday, June 1, 2018.
