One man dead, another injured in St James crash
A 44-year-old Hanover truck driver died last night from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle crash along a section of the King Gate main road in Anchovy, St James.
He is Andrew Smith of Camp Road in Hopewell.
Another man who also sustained injuries in the crash remains hospitalised in serious but stable condition.
It is reported that 10:30 p.m. on Smith, who was employed as a driver at a popular juice company in western Jamaica, was travelling in a Toyota Axio motorcar from the direction of Anchovy towards Long Hill.
On reaching a section of the road, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle which went into the path of a car travelling in the opposite direction.
Both vehicles collided resulting in the men sustaining multiple injuries.
They were taken to hospital where Smith was pronounced dead and the other man admitted.
