West Kingston persons of interest arrested in St Elizabeth
Four individuals who were listed as persons of interest by the Western Kingston Police division were nabbed by members of the St Elizabeth Police Operations Support Team on Tuesday.
Romario Powell, Jashane Thomas, Shemar Harrison, and Lotoya Hutchinson, all of Trench Town addresses, were picked up at a house in New River district, on the outskirts of Santa Cruz.
The police say during the operation ganja weighing 10 pounds was also found in the one-room premises.
They were arrested and charged with illegal possession of ganja and dealing in ganja and later taken before the St Elizabeth Parish Court.
Three of the four pleaded not guilty while Powell pleaded guilty, outlining to the court that his son's birthday was coming up and he wanted to ensure that he could make it special for him.
He was fined $15,000 or 30 days in prison for possession and $85,000 or 30 days imprisonment for dealing in ganja.
The police say the four will be transported to the Western Kingston Police division where they are listed as persons of interest.
