Police expect crime reduction in Grange Hill after Kings Valley gangsters arrested
The police say they are now expecting a reduction in crimes in Grange Hill, Westmoreland following the arrest of nine persons of interest, some linked to the Kings Valley Gang
They are among 56 people who were held in a joint police-military operation earlier this week in the Peggy Barry district.
Of nine persons of interest arrested, the police have identified six men as members of the Kings Valley Gang and two women as associates of the gangsters.
Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime (C-TOC) Branch, Fitz Bailey, said the police are committed to going wherever the criminals are and wherever the evidence lead.
He said so far, 27 members of the Kings Valley gang have been identified and investigations will continue to ensure that other persons in the gang are brought to justice.
“It doesn’t matter who you are, whether you are police, you’re a pastor, you’re a politician or just an ordinary citizen, once we have the evidence we intend to pursue it,” Bailey said.
He also appealled to criminals to surrender and for those who know them to help.
“My message to the family of those involved in criminal activities is to try and encourage them to desist from their criminality. If you have been involved and you want to change your lifestyle I would suggest that you identify a pastor or a justice of the peace or call us at C-TOC we will be willing to have a discussion with you to show you the pathway to escape a criminal lifestyle," Bailey said.
