JC school uniform lawsuit set for January 11

The lawsuit in which Wayne Robinson, acting principal of Jamaica College, has sued former president of the JC Old Boys Association Major Basil Jarrett, over the sale of school uniforms is to be heard in the Supreme Court on January 11.
Robinson wants Jarrett to give an account of how proceeds from the sale of the uniforms were used under Jarrett's leadership of the association.
It is being alleged that there was impropriety on Jarrett's part.
Jarrett, in response, has asked the Supreme Court to dismiss the claim as a frivolous and malicious abuse of the court process.
Jarrett is asking the court to find that it is part of a deliberate attempt to malign him for objecting to the failed attempt by the JC Board to retain former principal Ruel Reid.
In response, Jarrett's lawyers have submitted a verified copy of the most recent audited financial report which Jarrett states was supplied to the school board over a year ago and shows no suggestion of financial malfeasance.
It is further contended that Robinson lacks standing to bring such a claim and also that Jarrett was not the proper party to be sued as he was acting on behalf of the association and had the full support of the executive.
Robinson is being represented by King's Counsel Michael Hylton while Jarrett is being represented by King's Counsel Walter Scott KC.
