The Trelawny brother and sister charged with the murder of a fisherman were today each granted $300,000 bail.

Lester Montaque, 60, and 56-year-old Sylvia Montaque were ordered to return to court on March 12.

The bail application was made by their attorney Henry McCurdy.

Today, the court was told that documents in the case are outstanding.

The Falmouth police report that about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, the siblings went to the home of 59-year-old David Brown, otherwise called 'Dave', a fisherman, and forced their way inside his house.

An altercation developed between them and Sylvia and her brother allegedly used concrete blocks to hit Brown on his head.

Residents heard the noise and alerted the police.

On arrival of the lawmen, the area was searched and Brown was discovered lying on his back in blood.

Lester and Sylvia Montaque were subsequently arrested and charged with murder and conspiracy to murder.
