Bail extended for St Catherine man accused of abusing 11-y-o daughter
A St Catherine father who allegedly physically assaulted his 11-year-old daughter, was granted an extension of his bail when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday.
The accused has been charged with child abuse.
When the matter was mentioned it was revealed that there are still outstanding documents in the case.
Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne told the accused to keep the peace and not to interfere with witnesses or the complainant.
It is alleged that the complainant was constantly beaten by the accused.
In late March, several cuts, bruises and swelling were reportedly noticed on her body while she was at school.
A report was made after a relative got knowledge of the situation.
The child's father was subsequently arrested and charged.
He is set to reappear in court on July 2.
