Thirty-three-year old Devon Williams who is charged with the murder of three-year-old Asher Campbell in Pagee, St Mary, on May 29, has now secured legal representation.

Last week, Williams was ordered by Parish Judge Nicole Kellier to seek legal counsel after he informed the St Mary Parish Court that he was prepared to represent himself.

Williams' father has since engaged the services of attorney Dane Marsh, who took over the case and made his first appearance on Thursday.

When Marsh appeared in court he requested more time to review the case.

Kellier granted the request, but also gave instructions for Williams' medical report and criminal records to be presented at the next hearing slated for July 18.

Williams is also accused of wounding six other people during the incident in May, where he allegedly used a piece of iron pipe and a knife to launch a vicious and unprovoked attack on seven people, resulting in the death of the three year old.

Williams was remanded until July 18.
