Police probing suspected drowning in St Mary, deceased unidentified
The St Mary police are investigating the suspected drowning of a man near Prospect in the parish on Saturday.
The deceased has not been identified.
A worker from a nearby villa spotted a body floating near the shore at about 7:35 a.m. and made an alarm.
When the police arrived, they found the body of a male floating in the water. It was clad in a yellow shirt, black shorts, orange goggles, and a green and black diving fin.
The police also found a spear gun affixed to a length of line, which was attached to the body of the deceased.
The man was pronounced dead by a doctor and a team from the Police Area Two Technical Services Division processed the scene.
Porters of the St Michael's Funeral Home later removed the body. A post-mortem is pending.
