Stella Maris Preparatory School in St Andrew is seeking to distance itself from the robbery which took place on the Stella Maris compound earlier this week.

A statement issued this morning by the principal, Sister Mary Joseph, says "the incident actually took place at a different location and not at the school".

The statement comes after a Gleaner report in which parents raised concerns about the incident that took place on the Stella Maris compound and police confirmed that a bursar and accountant clerk were robbed "at their place of work".

Yesterday, when The Gleaner sought to speak with the school, the principal was said to be out for the day and the newspaper was told that the vice principal was in a class and unavailable.
