Mona Heights Primary celebrates winning TVJ's Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz
It was a jubilant atmosphere this morning at the Mona Heights Primary School in St Andrew as the institution celebrated its win in Television Jamaica's Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz.
The team, comprising Mikhail Wynter, Johnathan Dixon, Aaron Edwards, and Israel Edwards, defeated St Richard's Primary 26 to 16 in an exciting match up on Tuesday.
At this morning's motorcade celebration, they were hailed as heroes as they showed off their winning trophy through the sunroof of a vehicle.
Led by an energetic marching band, students clad in their green and white uniforms, supported by their parents and staff of the institution, proudly paraded their victory in the national competition.
"It cements our place as one of the schools of choice in the country," principal Alex Hepburn said.
"We have been looking for this sort of celebration for years, it means a lot to the community, it means a lot to the students," he added.
