Curfews imposed in Mandeville and Porus, Manchester

Forty-eight-hour curfews have been imposed in sections of Mandeville and Porus in the Manchester police division.

The curfew began in Mandeville began at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday and will remain in effect until 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, while in Porus the curfew began at 7:00 p.m. and will remain in effect until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The areas for the curfew in Mandeville are as follows:

North: East along an imaginary line from Royal Flat Road, 2800 meters to an area of Bartley Town in the Comfort community.

South: Westerly along an imaginary line, 2500 meters from an area of vegetation at the eastern boundary at Hillside community to an area of vegetation in the Rent Land Street community.

East: Soutth along an imaginary line, 7600 meters from the northern boundary at Bartley Town, to an area of vegetation in the Hillside community.

West: Northerly along an imaginary line, 7500 meters from the southern boundary at Rent Land to the northern border at Royal Flat Road.

In Porus the boundaries are:

North: (Bordered by Clarkes Town district)—along an imaginary line from the intersection of the toll road and Melrose district, 200 meters to a section of Porus main road, vicinity of Barrett Street.

South: (Bordered by Reeves Wood)—Westerly along an imaginary line from the eastern boundary, 2000 meters to an area of vegetation, to the broadleaf community.

East: (Bordered by Water Mount dist) south along an imaginary line, 2400 meters from the northern boundary at Porus main road to Redberry district.

West: Northerly along an imaginary line from Redberry to the south boundary, 1200 meters to the north border intersection at the toll road and Melrose district.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises, unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
