St Elizabeth police seize 100 pounds of ganja, man charged

The police in St Elizabeth have arrested and charged a motorist following the seizure of 100 pounds of ganja.
Charged with possession and dealing in ganja is Andre Allwood, a 36-year-old farmer from Knoxwood district in the parish.
Reports indicate that at around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, police personnel were on duty in Treasure Beach when the driver of a 2009 Honda Fit motorcar was signalled to stop.
He complied.
During a search of the vehicle, vegetable matter resembling ganja, weighing 100 pounds, was discovered inside the car.
Allwood was arrested and subsequently charged.
A court date is being finalised for his appearance.
