The police have since commenced an investigation to determine how the crash occurred, a senior police official told The Gleaner on Friday.
He said an update will be provided after statements and other materials are collected by investigators.
“We continue to urge our motorists to drive on our roadways with due care,” said Commander of the Police Area 4, Michael Phipps. The Coke clan is feared in the West Kingston community, once ruled by Shower Posse founder Lester Lloyd Cole and later his son Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.
The elder Coke was killed in a mysterious fire at the General Penitentiary Prison in 1992, shortly before he was to be extradited to the United States to face criminal charges.
Dudus is serving a 23-year prison sentence in the United States after he pleaded guilty to racketeering charges.
