A St Catherine woman employed as an accountant officer has been charged for allegedly using her company-issued credit card for unauthorised purchases.

She is 42-year-old Camay Beckford of Old Harbour, who is charged with unauthorised access to computer data.

Reports from the Old Harbour police are that between June 1 and August 25, Beckford used her company-assigned credit card to conduct several transactions not related to the company.

She allegedly defrauded the company of funds amounting to $162,977.

The manager of the establishment discovered the activity and made a report to the police.

The accused was subsequently arrested and charged following an interview conducted in the presence of her attorney.

Her court date is being finalised.
