Man fatally shot after allegedly attacking police in Waterford in Portmore
A man who allegedly attacked cops with a knife while being apprehended was fatally shot in Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine on Thursday night.
He has been identified by the police as 25-year-old labourer Shawn Seraton, a resident of the community.
According to the police, about 10:30 p.m., a team of officers went to Waterford and, while at the intersection of Hatfield Road and Paradise Way, accosted the man.
He reportedly attacked the cops with a knife.
The police say the team took evasive action and opened fire, hitting Seraton.
He was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The matter is being probed by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
