Taxi operator charged for allegedly stealing car parts from property
A 42-year-old taxi operator has been charged following the reported theft of motor vehicle parts from a property in St Andrew.
Charged with simple larceny is Troy Scarlett, who is of a Kingston 11 address.
Reports from the police are that about 2:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, Scarlett and another man allegedly went to a premises on Renfield Drive, Kingston 20, where they reportedly stole a bumper, a grille and two headlamps from a grey 2018 Toyota Vitz motor car that was parked on the property.
The estimated value of the stolen parts is approximately $450,000.
The matter was reported to the police and, following further investigations, Scarlett was arrested and taken into custody.
He was formally charged in relation to the offence on Friday, March 6.
Scarlett is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Monday, March 23.
