The Jamaica Constabulary Force is reminding the public that the annual lobster close season will run from April 1 to June 30, 2026.

During the period, the harvesting, sale, purchase, or transportation of lobsters is prohibited.

The advisory, issued by the force’s Agricultural Protection Branch on Monday, follows an announcement by the National Fisheries Authority.

The police are reminding the public that the possession of berried or undersized lobsters remains illegal at all times, with offenders liable to prosecution.
