CBFFAJ to launch Customs Brokers Catalogue as part of 60th anniversary celebrations
THE CUSTOMS Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of Jamaica (CBFFAJ) will be producing a Customs Brokers Catalogue, a comprehensive directory aimed at improving visibility for its members, particularly among international clients and returning residents seeking professional customs brokering services.
The announcement was made by Marcia Bent, who was re-elected president of the association during its 59th annual general meeting held on June 29 at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in Kingston. The launch of the catalogue forms part of a wider calendar of events to commemorate the CBFFAJ’s 60th anniversary beginning in November.
“This Brokers Catalogue, in print and online formats, will profile CBFFAJ members as world-class professionals, who are effectively dispensing their roles and obligations to facilitate vibrant cross-border trading in support of the Jamaican economy,” Bent said. “This initiative will make it possible for anybody in the world requiring the services of a Customs Broker in Jamaica to be able to find that broker, get a clear understanding of that broker’s area of specialisation, and ultimately engage that broker in business.”
Bent also outlined her vision for the CBFFAJ during this milestone year: “It is my goal, that in our 60th year, CBFFAJ will be profiled and understood as a professional body operating within the tenets of exercising a duty of care to its members, the customs brokering and logistics industry, and to the welfare and development of the nation.”
The CBFFAJ, which represents the majority of Jamaica’s more than 200 licensed customs brokers, plans to commemorate its diamond jubilee with a series of events and initiatives celebrating its legacy and impact.
The executive committee of the CBFFAJ for the 2025-2026 administrative year remains largely unchanged. Marcia A. Bent, continues as president, supported by Vice Presidents Paulette Watt-McIntosh; Ann Brown-Chang; Susan Neil; and Leon Smith. Jacqueline Mason-Reid has been returned as honorary secretary, with Roxanne Williams serving as assistant honorary secretary. Roger Stewart holds the post of honorary treasurer, assisted by Javar Wilson. Executive members include Tesonia Green, Mark King; Ramon Binns; Colin Cunningham; Clive Reid; Steve Billings; Michael Brown; and Trevor Powell. Clive Coke continues to serve as immediate past president.
Established in 1965, the CBFFAJ continues to play a key role in shaping national policy and supporting trade facilitation across Jamaica’s ports.
