Eva Wright marks 94th birthday
On Saturday, August 9, a very special group of family and friends gathered at the residence of Eva May Wright in Duff House, Manchester. It was a special occasion - to celebrate her 94th birthday. The party was organised by Wright's granddaughter Trisha Williams-Singh and her husband, Nari. The heavens joined in on the celebration as the brief showers that fell were welcome blessings for Wright.
As music played, cups of mannish water punctuated the copious liquid libations. The curried goat, fried chicken and grilled sirloin steaks were perfect, and had many returning for seconds.
A grand time was had by all including Nari's Driftwood Sporting Club buddies who had journeyed into St Elizabeth to scope out hunting prospects for the upcoming bird-shooting season. The highlight of the party for Wright was the arrival of her only living brother, Philip Neil, who she hugged and shared a very emotional interlude with.
