United Nations Day
Last Thursday, Jamaica's United Nations country team headed by Dr Arun Kashyap hosted its United Nations (UN) Day cocktail reception under the theme: 'Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States through Genuine and Durable Partnerships'.
The celebrations took place at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel's, Top of the World. Since 1948, October 24th has been celebrated as United Nations Day. It provides an opportunity for the UN worldwide to highlight the work of the organisation in various areas of development.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade A.J. Nicholson, led the list of government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, among other international development agencies and civil society organisations representatives who were in attendance.
