Four schools share urban TT titles

The titles were shared among four schools as the curtain came down on the ISSA Urban Table Tennis competition on Thursday at the Excelsior High auditorium.

Under-19 boys winners Kingston College, Ardenne High in the Under-19 girls, and Campion College among the Under-16 boys retained their titles while St Jago High won the girls' Under-16 title for the first time since play in this age-group category was started in 2008.

In the finals, KC turned back St Jago 3-1 in boys' Under-19; Ardenne overcame Excelsior 3-1 in girls' Under-19; Campion pipped Wolmer's Boys 3-2 in the Under-16 boys, and St Jago defeated Wolmer's Girls 3-1 in Under-16 girls.

KC, who have now won the Under-19 title 15 times of the past 21 years to continue their domination of this category. Ardenne's Under-19 girls, winners seven times in 21 years, have won this category more times than any other team. Campion, the two-times defending champions in Under-16 boys, have now made it three straight.

The all-island finals are scheduled for next Tuesday, March 13, at Excelsior, starting at 11 a.m.

KC will face Titchfield High in boys Under-19, it will be Ardenne versus Titchfield in Under-19 girls, Campion against Glenmuir in Under-16 boys, and St Jago versus Westwood in girls' Under-16.
