Megan Tapper put herself in Jamaica's history books, becoming the first woman to claim an Olympic medal in the 100m Hurdles.

Tapper clocked a time of 12.55 seconds for the bronze medal, running from lane nine in the final.

World leader and Olympic record holder Jasmine Camacho-Quinn took the gold in 12.37s, while world record holder Kendra Harrison of the USA took the silver medal in 12.52s.

Britany Anderson, another Jamaican, making her Olympic debut, was also in the final but finished in eighth.
