Decent start to World Athletics U20s Champs for Jamaica

Running in heat two, Kerrica Hill placed second in 11.65 seconds, behind Nigeria's Praise Ofoku, who had an identical time.

Clayton won heat two, clocking 11.50s.

Namibia's Beatrice Masilingi, a 200m finalist at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this month, advanced from the round, setting the fastest time in the process. She clocked a Namibian U20 record of 11.20s to advance.

Their final comes up on Wednesday at 4:10 p.m. (8:10 a.m. Jamaica time).

Jamaica's 100m Men's competitors Bryan Levell and Alicke Cranston are also through to their semi-finals.

Levell won his heat in 10.43s, while Cranston was second in 10.45s, behind South Africa's Benjamin Richardson 10.28s. The semi-final happens at 4:40 p.m. (8:40 a.m.).

Jamaica's Mixed 4x400m relay team of Antonio Hanson, Alliah Baker, Dejanea Oakley, and Shaemar Uter are into the final of their event. They finished third in their heat in a season's best (SB) time of 3:24.65 minutes, behind India (championship record 3:23.36), and the Czech Republic (SB 3:24.15). Their final takes place at 5:15 p.m. (9:15 a.m.).

Oneika McAnnuff clocked 54.13s to win her heat of the Women's 400m, but her teammate Annalee Robinson missed the semi-final with a time of 56.56s, which placed her sixth.

Tahj Hamm and and Jeremy Bembridge both missed the Men's 400m semi-finals. Hamm placed seventh in his heat in 47.73s, and Bembridge did not finish his.
