Jamaica's Reggae Girlz have taken a 1-0 lead at half-time in their Group A opener against Mexico at the Concacaf Women's Championship in Monterrey, Mexico.

Khadija Shaw gave the Reggae Girlz the lead in the eighth minute with a glancing header.

Jamaica had an opportunity to double their lead from the penalty spot in the 39th minute when Casandra Montero was called for a handball in the box after a Video Assistant Referee review. However Havana Solaun saw her attempt sail over the bar.

Jamaica had six shots with three on target while Mexico had seven shots with two on target.
