CG2022 | Bromfield only Jamaican in women’s 400 metres semis

Jamaica’s Junelle Bromfield will be the country’s sole representative in the semi-finals of the women’s 400 metres at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Bromfield, who competed in heat one, finished second in a time of 52.04 behind England’s Victoria Ohuruogu who stopped the clock at 51.34.

Tiffany James who was slated to compete in heat two failed to show up for the race, which was won by Canada’s Kyra Constantine in 52.03.

Jamaica’s third representative Roniesha Mcgregor also failed to progress beyond qualifying as she finished fifth in heat three.

That race was won by Barbados’ bronze medalist from the recently concluded World Championships Sada Williams in 51.66.
