Lamar Walker linked to Preston North End
JAMAICA AND Miami FC midfielder, Lamar Walker, is being linked with a move to Preston North End (PNE), according to online reports.
Deepdaledigest.com and 876 stream reported that Walker is being monitored by the League One club after he was highlighted by former Jamaica international and PNE winger Chris Humphrey, who is assisting Preston with scouting.
Spartak Moscow forward Shamar Nicholson also gave the move a thumbs up on Instagram, while enquiring when the deal would be done.
The 22-year-old Walker plays in the USL Championship, the United States’ second-tier league.
The former Portmore United player has scored one goal and provided four assists in his 24 games for Miami this season.
With his contract set to expire at the end of this month, the attacking midfielder is said to be hunting a move to Europe.
Walker, who has 16 international caps to his name, is reported to be on the radar of PNE, who are looking at him as an option for fellow Jamaican international midfielder Daniel Johnson, whose contract will run out this coming summer.
However, questions remain if the former Clarendon College star qualifies for a work permit in England.
Walker was named to the Reggae Boyz squad which played Cameroon in an international friendly recently in that African country.
He provided the assist for Justin McMaster to score the opening goal of the match in the 1-1 draw.
Efforts to get a response from Humphrey on the possibility of the move were not successful.
