Carifta under-17 triple jumps led by Young, Atkinson

Jamaica College's Euan Young lands in the pit on his way to winning the boys' under-17 triple jump at the Carifta Trials inside the National Stadium earlier this evening.

Jamaica College's Euan Young and Hydel High's Sabrina Atkinson took the under-17 triple jump titles on the third day of the Carifta Trials at the National Stadium this afternoon.

Young captured the under-17 boys title with a hop, skip and jump of 14.81 metres, while Calabar's Shevaughn Pryce, 12.96, and Kijuan Williams, 12.89, were second and third.

Hydel finished first and third in the event with Jenice Dunkley’s 11.01 metres filling out the podium spots. Her teammate, Atkinson, had lept out to 11.61 to get the better of Excelsior’s Tashianna Legister, who cut the sand at 11.10.
