Reid, Smith Band dominate Carifta Trials’ half-lap

Hydel High's Alana Reid and Jamaica College's Malique Smith Band captured the under 20 200m titles on the final day of the Carifta Trials this afternoon at the National Stadium.

Reid, who finished second in the 100m yesterday, won the girls 200m crown in 22.96 seconds, finishing ahead of Mount Alvernia's Carlet, whose 23.51 bettered the 23.93 of Lacovia's Sabrina Dockery.

Band took the under-20 boys’ title in 21.13 with St Elizabeth Technical's Javorne Dunkley, second in 21.29. Edwin Allen's Delano Kennedy was third in 21.48.
